un sitio céntrico y con encanto
es un hotel céntrico construido en una villa de la época. Hotel con encanto con habitaciones correctas, sin lujos y limpias. el desayuno es correcto y sencillo. el personal del hotel es atento y simpático. si necesitáis un taxi os lo llaman y en 5 min lo tenéis en la puerta.

Average but small rooms
Hotel Vila Tafaj Formerly 3 houses so lots of small staircases and a very confusing layout Very small single rooms, you literally could touch the walls and some rooms are internal with no outside window on the corridor so become quite noisy, the beds are also quite narrow and very short Plastic flip flops are provided but did not use them as there was no guarantee that they were clean or sterile as obviously used by many guests Thin curtains in the bedroom let in light so will cause you to wake early Poor breakfast, the hot choice very limited, overcooked eggs, no fruit, and limited bread options, there was nice fresh yoghurt, but bitter coffee and weak tea choices

Average overall but misleading policies
I stayed here for two nights during a tour of Albania. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is good. My room was small and the WiFi in my room was so poor as to be unusable, although it could be used in the small reception area. Despite being given a remote control, there was no TV in my room. When I came to check out I was charged 560 lek for four small bottles of water that I found on their own in the fridge (which was definitely not a minibar) and had drunk. The hotel had not informed me that these were to be charged and I had assumed they were complimentary. The same bottles of water in a nearby shop would have cost me 30-50 lek each. I think this is disgraceful behaviour and an obvious rip off. It has coloured my opinion of the Albanian people, which hitherto had been very positive.

Great place, in the heart of the city, with the nicest staff
I love this place. Well situated, in the heart of Tirana, but without being too noisy. Clean rooms, friendly staff, excellent service. The food of the restaurant is also amazing. Keep up the good work guys!!

A good choice for a Tirana city-break
My son and I stayed here for a weekend in Tirana (recommended for a city-break), ahead of a walking tour in northern Albania. Villa Tafaj is an attractive low-rise hotel, as its photo shows, which is conveniently located just five minutes walk from the city's central Skanderbeg Square, with the airport bus stop just off the opposite corner of the pedestrianised square, and most of the city's main tourist sights nearby. Our room was cosy but with comfortable beds, very effective air conditioning, and a good range of satellite TV channels. We booked a room with a balcony, which turned out to be a substantial outside area with table and chairs, overlooking the street - I would definitely recommend going for this, if available. Our room was cleaned and tidied - twice in one day! The buffet breakfast on our first morning (Saturday) was pretty dismal, but on the Sunday the waiter-delivered a la carte breakfast from a sizable range of options was much better. Be aware that the hotel prefers to be paid in cash rather than credit card; fortunately, as the room-rate was quite modest (55 euros a night for our double room, through booking.com), we had enough spare cash, although I'm sure they would have accepted payment by credit card if necessary. All in all, we were pleased with our choice of Villa Tafaj for our inexpensive and conveniently located accommodation in what proved an unexpectedly pleasant, friendly and interesting city.
