  Jaw dropping Experience

  i experienced discrimination and poor customer service at the rooftop bar . I and my party was literally asked to leave in order to make space for a single white male to sit . We had ordered cocktails but had to leave the premises . We Complained at the reception, but no corrective measures were taken by management . I didn't know that discrimination based on race could occur in Ghana of all places smh .

  Great stay for a week.

  Roots Hotel is conveniently located next night life, shopping, and other "must see" sites in Accra. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with a decent amount of natural light. Food was consistently good, drinks at the rooftop bar were great, and service at the ground level cafe was adequate. Because it is located next to a popular nightclub, expect lots of noise on the weekend. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

  Perfect ending to Visiting Ghana

  I stayed with a group in Prampram while visiting Ghana and when the group left, I wanted a place in the city where I could be closer to things and relax in more comfortable settings. Roots answered all my prayers. What a lovely boutique type of hotel to stay in. From the greeting at my car to help me with my bags to everyone throughout, I was thankful to have chosen to stay here my final days. The ladies at the bar on the rooftop were the kindest. I enjoyed the hot tub and mostly enjoyed the kindness of everyone I came in contact with. The buffet Breakfast every morning was delicious and I cant say enough about the fresh juice. There was also a day when I was sick and one of the workers brought me some fresh ginger to my room. What a way to go above and beyond for your guests. Thank you to everyone at Roots and I look forward to staying here again on a future visit to a Ghana

  Nice apartment , very clean but noisy and not friendly

  Very nice self contained apartel near Oxford Road. Great room with good shower, Excellent aircon. The walk at night from Oxford street is not lit and a bit intimidating. Hotel has a ground floor coffee bar, air con restaurant on 7th floor and a rooftop bar. Very smart and very clean.The reception is helpful but very money orientated. Lots of staff but not really friendly . Hotel has a large music venue in the rear and is VERY noisy

  Lovely Property - Great Service

  Let's face it. Decent hotels in Accra are EXPENSIVE by Africa standards. We spend seven months on the continents, visited nine countries, and Accra was by far the most expensive for hotels by far. That being said, we stayed two full weeks, with a month of touring in between, and used three different Accra Hotels...all similar in price. The Roots Apartment Hotel is fresh, modern, has a great staff, always pleasant and accommodating. We booked a studio both times and had a nicely equipped kitchen a large bathroom, king bed and separate lounging area with sofa and TV. The digital TV is ok. It has CNN which made us happy. The Wifi comes and goes but we were able to get our emails and do a bit of banking using our VPN. Forget streaming any shows on Netflix, etc. Accra is not about being a beautiful city. It is not. It is about the culture and the people...and in that, you will not be disappointed. PS...make sure your reservation included breakfast or be prepared to pay $12 USD each on the seveth floor. The food was good but it was a bit pricey.
