  Economical, but nice

  This hotel is located about five minutes away from the Fukushima City train station - it's basic, but clean and over all, very comfortable if dated. There are plenty of little restaurants nearby, although things do close on the early side, but still - there are all the convenient stores you might need nearby. The room keys are gargantuan, have the hotel name and your room number written on them - you might want to just leave yours at the front desk before you leave (Japan has a pretty low crime rate, but it would suck to lose those the thing). No WiFi, but free ethernet is available.

  Vintage, but comfortable!

  It's a vintage hotel, everything has an early 1970's feel. The decor is old, the style outdated. But would I stay here again - YES! The place is full of character. The hotel is very central, a couple of minutes walk from Fukushima train station, and a few minutes from car rental offices, restaurants and cafes. The decor and look of the hotel is old, but it is clean and everything works. Slightly musty smell in reception area, and smokers hang out there smoking their cigarettes. The double room was very comfortable, but very small. Clean and comfortable bed, clean bathroom with piping hot water. Air conditioning worked. Room was nice and quiet. Wifi worked well both in room and in lobby reception area. Breakfast is very typical Japanese breakfast, with decent coffee from machine. Sadly lacking in western style breakfast foods though, but hey, you're in Japan. The hotel doesn't have a pool or gym,nor business desk. It is a budget business hotel, but I've stayed in far worse. I'd happily stay there again.
