  Rat in the room

  Check in on 23rd Nov 2019. Got our keys and went to the room. Upon closing the door, there was a huge rat came running from across the room towards me. My wife screamed. As the door was closed, the rat ran back in and up above the TV panel. It was just as panick as we were. We left the room immediately and closed the door. Managed to change to another room, unfortunately it's a smoking room. We put up with it as staying only for one night. 1st time experiencing rat in hotel room after travelling for more than 30 yrs.

  Good hotel - Location Awesome

  Hotel is located about 10-15 mins from Harbourbay Ferry Terminal via Taxi. Good location - directly in front of Nagoya Shopping Centre. Theres an outdoor sheltered walkway to the shopping centre from hotels level 2. Check in & out were smooth. All staff are so friendly. Breakfast was superb! All food tasted nice. Love the Nasi Goreng especially. 1 thing i like about this hotel is that the corridors are very well lit. Only downside to this hotel - Gotten a room level 6 facing the main road, really noisy from vehicles at all times. Requested for one facing the shopping mall but was not fulfilled. But overall okay if youre not a light sleeper.

  Clean and Good breakfast

  The hotel is a 4-star hotel. It is located in Nagoya which is in the `Orchard Road' area of Batam. I came here with a group of grassroots leaders for our overseas retreat. The organizing committee booked the tour package from WTS Travel agency in Singapore who arranged the accommodation at this hotel. The whole 2D 1N package costs us $182/- per pax. As we enjoyed a $100/- subsidy from our grassroots organization, I only paid $82/- for this trip. All breakfast, lunch and dinner are provided: breakfast and one lunch at the hotel with the next day's lunch and dinner at seafood restaurants. The tour also includes visit to the Laughing Buddha Temple, the Admiral Cheng Ho Mosque and the Miniature Park at Bengkong. The tour guide also brought us on an island tour to some of the factory outlets. We visited a factory outlets that packed and sold Luwah coffee, Layer Cakes (Kueh Lapis), pineapple tarts, Batam brand chocolates and latex mattresses. Quite an interesting and packed itinerary. The breakfast at this hotel was amazingly sumptuous. The international buffet has quite a wide range. We had papaya, watermelon, banana pineapples for fruits and beverages include coffee, tea, soya bean, fruit juices. Beans, fried fish, potato balls, sausages, mixed vegetables, noodles, fried rice, bread, cakes, kueh kueh, etc were delicious and tempting. I would have gained much weight if I continue to be served with such sumptuous and delicious meals everyday. I like the cozy dining area: comfortable, conducive lighting, spacious and well decorated. We had our work plan discussion in one of the convention rooms at the second floor beside the dining area before we check-in into the hotel. The discussion room was spacious and conducive for our work plan. The hotel also supplied us with complimentary light refreshment and hot beverages. The sound system and the projector work perfectly well. The only minus point is that the room door has no automatic door closing mechanism resulting in loud banging noise when it closed. The power sockets are located too low to the floor and I had difficulties inserting my charger into the socket to charge my hand phone. Nevertheless, I sincerely thanked the hotel management for being so thoughtful to allow us to use the ballroom for our work plan discussion and even provided us with the flip chart and refreshment at no extra cost. I stayed at room 521 (twin sharing) and found it perfectly clean and comfortable. The air con was conducive to sleep. Complimentary mineral bottles, tooth brush, shaving kit and shampoo are also provided. There is a smart TV and I enjoyed watching some of the recent film shows at the you tube channel. The rear of the hotel is also just adjacent to Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall and I spent my night window shopping and roaming at the mall. The mall has a hypermarket and many restaurants of international cuisine - Japanese, Korean, Chinese, western and local Indonesian. I had a great time enjoying my night at the mall. Overall, I like the cleanliness of this hotel and friendliness of her staff and enjoy the marvelous breakfast and lunch here.

  Great Service and Convenient

  Very efficient Check-in and Check-out as the items inside the fridge are complimentary. The staff at the Oriental resto for b'fast and the x'mas dinner were pretty attentive and we also had a pleasant experience with their security and hk staff. Grab can drop-off at the lobby but you have to 'grab' one from outside the main road at the vehicle exit point of the hotel driveway. B'fast items, although in variety are not of quality standards as compared to hotels in Thailand, which is inclusive in the room pricing. Same for their X'mas Dinner! Good location, and to Grand Batam Mall is only about S$2.50 where you can cross the road to A2 foodcourt and BCS mall. Taxi from Batam Center to hotel is standard at 70K IDR if you don't want to lug your bags to the roundabout outside which is a distance away. Overall, a pleasant stay!

  Money-Faced Hotel

  I was supposed to go to Batam but unfortunately COID-19 happened. Since travelling was not allowed, I have to cancel the ferry and hotel bookings. Batam Fast was very accommodative by extending our bookings to end of the year. However, emails after emails to Nagoya Hills Hotel proved to be the worst experience that I have ever encountered. Am I at fault for not able to stay there? Why can't they extend the booking validity till end of the year as well like other organisations? Truely, they are unfit to work in the hospitality since there's no empathy or compassion. Seriously, I hope the management will fo down the drain!
