  Great hotel with fantastic location

  This hotel with French style interior is located in the heart of Nanjing, next to Xinjiekou. While the building doesn't look much from the outside, the rooms are fairly spacious and very clean. Since this is not an international chain, there are only Chinese TV channels, the room service is very limited, same with the breakfast, but on the other hand, the breakfast is never crowded. You also get free wired internet in the room. All the staff are friendly and very service minded. I would stay here again for the location and quality of the rooms.

  Good Location

  I stayed in this hotel in January 2011. I had previously stayed in New Era Hotel the week before. The checkin process was disorganized. The front desk staff did not greet us when we arrived there. We had to stand in line and they did not even seem to acknowledge us. We got our rooms and found it the decor to be nice and the cleanliness up to standards. There was usually some smoke in the hallways or even permeating into our rooms because people are permitted to smoke indoors. You can expect it to be smoky most of the time. As I had mentioned, we had stayed in New Era the week prior. In comparison to that hotel, I felt that Huaying has a better location than New Era because it is less than a block away from the shopping center. Walmart is half a block away. This is extremely convenient. However, the staff is much more friendly at New Era. The breakfast buffet at New Era was undoubtedly better than the one at Huaying. There was way more selection. Of course, the New Era breakfast was also more expensive than the one at Huaying. Based on the web reservation, one breakfast per day was included in the hotel stay at Huaying. They do not hand out vouchers unlike New Era. However, New Era provided more value as they provided two breakfast buffet vouchers because we were staying there for a long period of time. We found out at checkout that Huaying does deduct the cost of the buffet if you do not have the buffet. This was unexpected and I thought this was fair of them. Overall, if you are headed to Nanjing, I would stay in Huaying for the location only. For the breakfast buffet and friendliness of staff, I like New Era more.

  For the visitor,this is top class

  I stayed here for 4 nights in early May 2014 and found it to be be top class. The twin room I had was spacious and very well equipped. Cleanliness could not be faulted. Internet connection is standard and plug-in wifi can be got from reception. Bathroom somewhat small and shower is fitted over the bath though it works well. No bar in the hotel but mini bar can be augmented by self supply as Walmart is close by. Nutritious breakfast available though Starbucks is nearby. Location is very central and the main Metro station at Xinjiekou is a stone throw away. Nanjing is an easy city to get around and is well served by buses and taxis, bike and car, as well .
