  You are getting more as you expect for the price

  I stayed here two nights at this hotel and I was surprised about what I've got for this price. Rooms are nice and cozy. The room was clean and had a good size. The Hotel is in the center of Hangzhou. Some restaurants are nearby. An 24/7 convenient shop is just around the corner just minutes from the hotel. So I have really nothing to complain.

  This isn't a hotel.... It's an office building

  Seems like the original hotel decided to make more money renting out floors to businesses and such. The hotel services seem to take second fiddle to the other businesses. There is no complimentary breakfast, and if you want to pay for one, it's outrageous. Services are adequate. People aren't really friendly or unfriendly. We went to use the hotel exercise room and found out it's a private gym that has a deal with the hotel. They were none too happy to have "hotel people" use their stuff. Stupid! Another stupid thing -- the bathroom wall that adjoins the bedroom is a giant window - clear glass! Good grief! "Look, I can see my partner using the bathroom! Hi honey!" Then, the hotel spends more money putting up vinyl curtains that get mildew because they are installed in the shower stall. The cleaning staff works hard and does a good job. But, the toilet was leaking and a lamp didn't work. Slow wifi. Basically, this place needs to close. I'll never stay here again.

  Standard Chinese Hotel

  The venue is located not far from the city center. The room was spacious and decorated Chinese style. The bed was ok, not really Chinese hard. The window would not close and would let enter some street noise. The breakfast was Chinese with a small western touch, no cereals, no eggs sunny side up. The Price was OK. The service is OK too.

  Affordable, conveniently located hotel in Hangzhou

  For 580 RMB, or a little less than $90, the Capital Star hotel is an affordable option in Hangzhou, about 1.5 mile away from the famous West Lake (Xi Hu). At that rate, I was given a very spacious room on the 15th floor, with a king size bed, and a large bathroom. Interestingly enough, the shower had a window with a view of the room something I had never seen before. The room was equipped with a large desk, divan, and big TV screen. The included breakfast served on the 4th floor was both hearty and varied, with a large variety of savory and sweet dishes. Two minuses worth mentioning. First, common to many venues in mainland China, the internet connection was extremely slow, and, for all intents and purposes, nearly unusable (with or without a VPN). Second, equally common to many venues, especially outside very cosmopolitan cities like Beijing and Shanghai, the hotel staff could only communicate in broken English, which can be problematic if your command of the Chinese tongue is nil. All in all, a good option in that price range, close to the main attraction of the city.
