Ski Holiday March 2016Just returned from a great weeks skiing in Saalbach. The hotel is great, very friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. All the meals were great and the taxi service to and back from the slopes was also a nice touch. We did attempt the ski in, although I suggest you make sure there is plenty of snow!!! The walk into Saalbach is fine, approx. 10mins and it's a lovely walk through a wooded area. Would have no problems recommending this hotel, and I would certainly go back.

The hotel you can trust for your ski tripWe have just returned from Saalbach, were we stayed in Altachhof. I will try to be as concrete as possible: * Rooms are decent, some have balconies with great view, they are being properly cleaned every day; * Food is really good. And the half-board is well worth the money, since you have quite rich buffets both during breakfasts and dinners; Food is usually average at best in Austria. This hotel surprised us positively; * Their host Daniela (Dani) is friendly, eager to help and flexible. This was very important for us, since rude concierge can ruin your holidays, but this was definitely not the case. If anything, she was better than we have expected and her recommendations on SPA and other activities were wonderful! * There's a 20 minute walk from the hotel to the city centre (5 minutes if your lucky ant the shortcut is not snowed in). But every room gets two free transfers a day - one in the morning and one in the afternoon. They are quite flexible on the pickup locations as well and here's a tip: if you want to take an additional taxi in the evening, take the same taxi company - they're the cheapest there and very efficient; * There's a sauna in the apartment building (100 meters away). It's a decent simple sauna, if you need one. Nothing fancy, so don't get your hopes up; On the first day, I fractured my knee. Dani was helpful, they covered the taxi transfer from the hospital and didn't charge us a penny. These small things show the attitude of hosts. And holiday experiences are usually defined not by the colour of the tablecloth, but by the attitude of the host, who is taking care of you. That is why I would definitely recommend this hotel and I am sure you can trust them with you holiday. Some tips for improvement, which are small, but worth mentioning: * Wi-fi is available only in a third of the building. This is not particularly cool, especially if your a smartphone addict. :) * Breakfast could include pancakes. Would be 10/10 breakfast upgrade. :)

Ski Holiday with Friends - February 2017This place is fantastic value for money! we looked an apartment that had a private little kitchen/lounge visiting area. Equipped with a stove, microwave and fridge! The rooms were spacious and the little balcony gave you an amazing view!. The meals were outstanding so much good food. A full breakfast with everything you could want. Three course dinner and a full cold buffet with salads and sides , totally satisfying! The free shuttle service was the cherry on top, fast, and efficient service. The staff were the best Dani has a sense of humour like no other and will go out of her way to help you with anything! Peter was very friendly and helpful. This was a very pleasant, worthwhile , value for money stay!! Will recommend it to anyone. Will definitely be back!

The perfect hotel for any ski vacation! We LOVED IT and the PEOPLE!We have just returned from Saalbach, were we stayed in Altachhof. Amazing Saalbach Ski Vacation at Hotel Altachhof!!We recently spent 7 nights at the Altachhof as part of an organized skit trip with 36 other Canadians. The staff and service at the hotel were amazing - everyone was very friendly and super helpful. Checking in 38 of us was remarkably smooth! There was a room for our ski stuff which included heated boot racks, and the taxi service for access to the lifts was perfect. Meals were great too - nice breakfast, excellent dinners with good variety. We loved the ski-out from the Westernstadl down to the hotel, where we stopped for apres-ski every day. The rooms were very spacious, lots of space to put our clothes and stuff, lots of space to hang out and have a drink as well. Bathroom was also spacious, though the shower was a little confined, but no big deal. Wifi was great, was able to stream Netflix no problem. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend the Altachhof as the base for a Saalbach ski trip!
